DEFRA have published information on new regulations on pesticide use that are coming into force.
The regulations require certain users of professional plant protection products (PPPs) and adjuvants to register themselves. Those who need to register include:
- Those who use professional PPPs and any adjuvants as part of their work.
- Those who have professional PPPs and any adjuvants applied by a third party as part of your work in agriculture or horticulture, amenities or forestry.
- Note that registration is not required by those who use amateur PPPs, such as in private gardens.
Registration is done via a downloadable form, which should be completed and returned to DEFRA to the following email address: GB-OCR-Notification@defra.gov.uk.
More information about the registration requirement can be found here.
