Congratulations to the Aberconway Award Winner for 2023 – Daniel Jones and Pam Pointer Award Winner for 2024 – Cerys Eleanor, presented at this year’s conference by CIH President, David Richardson.

Daniel is from Writtle University College and submitted his winning thesis ‘Fantastic Frass? Investigating the Impacts of Insect Frass on Microbial Activity and Soil Fertility for Sustainable Crop Production.

Cerys has just completed her BSc in Horticultural Science and Management at Myerscough College. For her final year project she carried out a survey exploring barriers to employment and inclusivity within the horticultural industry. The findings of her research shed light on this important area. She was nominated for this award as it was felt her research is personally motivated by her own experiences and provides insights into the challenges faced by those with disabilities within Horticulture.

Congratulations Daniel and Cerys!
