The house and garden at Tudor Croft were originally built in 1934 by the Crossley family (Builder’s Merchants) in the arts and crafts style incorporating around 10,000 tons of stone for walls and features. It was bought later by the Heagney family (owners of Heagney’s Supermarkets) in 1954 and has been looked after by the family since then.
The garden is open to the public each February for a Snowdrop weekend as the owner Mike Heagney is a keen Galanthophile with approximately 250 different varieties in the garden. The garden is open again each summer for 2 weekends raising money for various charities and was added to the NGS (national garden scheme) in 2021.
Covering an area of approximately 5 acres, the garden features a stream running through it and includes a fernery, a rose pergola, mature trees, rose garden, lawns, ponds, gravel area, and various small garden rooms within.
Mike will have some plants for sale on the day including snowdrops in pots.
Cost: Members and Guests will be asked for a cash donation (£5).
