CIH Conference & AGM 2016 summary
We would like to thank all of our delegates for their attendance on November 30th. The members, students, fellows, and hopefully soon to be members, made the day a great success.
The event began with our Annual General Meeting which was a celebration of the year's achievements. We presented four new fellow members with their certificates and five award winners with their prizes.
"It was great to attend and I was very honoured to receive the award." Adam Saynor, GroCycle, Winners of the Norah Stucken Award
The conference itself included talks from our impressive speakers, Martin Emmett, Philip Pearson, Anthony Snell, Alan Roper and Sue Ireland as well as our conference chairman David Domoney. We would like to say thank you to them for their attendance and truly inspirational presentations.

"Well organised and professional conference!" - Anthony Snell, AJ & CI Snell
At the end of the AGM we had the pleasure of welcoming our new president, Dr. Owen Doyle. Owen then proceeded to announce the venue and date of next years Conference & AGM. The conference is to be held in Dublin on the 13th and 14th of October 2017. To launch the event we asked Owen to pick a name from a prize draw awarding one of our members with a free ticket to next years conference.
The winner was Jessica Evans, head gardener at Tintinhull Gardens working for the National Trust and also winner of our 2015 Young Horticulturist of the Year competition. We are looking forward to next years AGM & Conference and will publish the venue when it is announced.
